Rumex is a genus of herbaceous plants commonly called docks or sorrels. The genus is cosmopolitan and has about 200 species. Thirteen species (either native or introduced) are found in Oklahoma. The small inconspicuous flowers are borne in clusters on a long stalk.
Rumex pollen is tricolporate (occasionally tetracolporate) with very long colpi and is 22-26 µm in diameter. Prominent starch grains are normally visible within the pollen. Rumex pollen is captured by air samplers in Tulsa from April through June.
